Liberty

While Mother was running for the Montana state senate, she was wearing mostly blue and white. She said she wanted something snappy. For the first half of the necklace I wove red seed beads and a sprinkling of blue and white into a rope. Once I loosened the rope’s strands I salted each with a variety of red glass shapes. I chose red not only for the zing it would add to her wardrobe but to represent the fiscally conservative nature of her platform. As a last touch I added a Liberty Bell and told her she could add other charms as she found them.
